Compliance with the Ecodesign Directive

The purpose of the regulation is to ensure the eco-design and appropriate labeling of space heaters and to reduce energy consumption accordingly.

The regulation distinguishes between different types of heating systems, including electric space heaters and space heaters designed for gaseous or liquid fuels. Electric space heaters are further subdivided into:

  • Portable space heaters,
  • Stationary heating units,
  • Storage heaters
  • Underfloor heating units
  • Radiant heater.

Central heating systems that distribute heat to various rooms using a liquid medium, for example, are not covered by this regulation.
